‘Oh it’s so cold!’ exclaimed Piccolo as she stepped into the house. ‘Best get a fire lit darling’. Her husband followed with the luggage. ‘There’ll be nothing in the pantry’ she said. ‘I’ll shop tomorrow, but we’ll have to eat out tonight. How about at The Swan?’.

When they returned after eating at their favourite pub (across the other side of town serving the best hot food), it was gone nine and dark. As they neared a small package could be seen to one side of the front door. ‘Odd’ said Piccolo retrieving it. ‘I’m sure it wasn’t there earlier, and who would deliver at this time of night?’. After entering the hallway and turning on the light, a close inspection of the label showed that the parcel was for Miss Simmonds.
